Vintage
Wings of Canada is
the host of this annual event. Vintage
Wings of Canada is
an aviation
museum of historically significant aircraft, organized
as a charitable foundation. The facility is located at the Gatineau-Ottawa
Executive Airport, Quebec. It was founded
by philanthropist Mile Potter, who often flies
many
of the classic Allied World
War II era aircraft owned by the museum
at air shows such as the
Supermarine
Spitfire Mk XVI and
the P-51D Mustang.
Mike
Potter is also a Honorary Colonel of the Snowbirds. Potter
recruited a number of professional pilots from the National
Research Council Flight Test Laboratory, to assist
in managing, displaying and flying the aircraft among them
Paul Kissman and Dan Dempsey. |
This
year the Wings
Over Gatineau event was perfect with blue cloudless
skies, no wind and warm temperature. A total of 22,000 people
have attended the event, which was a record. By the way this
number was not an estimate, but is a real number.
Over all it
was an excellent event! Next year we will have a much more
in-dept report, and looking forward to it.
